The all-new Hyundai Tucson will be launched in the Indian market tomorrow (August 10). The company has already started pre-booking for its upcoming flagship SUV and customers can book their car for a token amount of 50,000. The car is available for booking at all authorized Hyundai dealerships and the company’s website. With the order books opened on July 19, the company managed to garner over 3,000 bookings for the SUV in just 20 days.
The 2022 Tucson will enter the fourth generation in India with the latest launch announcement. The new car will be a big step up from the previous model in terms of exterior design, interior and features. One of the key highlights of this model is the use of Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) with over 60 features available through Hyundai BlueLink. It will be available for sale in two variants Platinum and Signature.
On the exterior, the new Tucson carries Hyundai’s ‘sensuous sportiness’ design philosophy. The latest version of the car is a huge leap forward in terms of aesthetics. The SUV’s front fascia is dominated by its parametric front grille, which is polished in dark chrome. And the front look is finished in a parametric design with the use of LED headlamps with hidden DRLs (also LED). Another important aspect of the front design is the use of new position lights that give the car a touch of modernity. On the side, the use of angular wheel arches, large wheels, black cladding and prominent “Z” shaped character lines give the car quite a sporty and aggressive appeal. Furthermore, the rear is dominated by its connecting LED tail lamps, three-dimensional logo, parametric pattern bumper and rear spoiler with LED high mount stop lamp and shark fin antenna.
Under the hood, the car will be available with two powertrain options – a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The former belt delivers 154 bhp of power and 192 Nm of torque, while the latter develops 184 bhp and 416 Nm. Transmission options are a 6-speed automatic gearbox (on petrol) and an 8-speed automatic (on diesel). Also, the car will be offered with an all-wheel-drive mode.

However, in India, the car does not have any direct competitor, although it is categorized as the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Skoda Kodiaq. When launched, it will be priced between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
