2022 NBA Draft: How to Watch, Thread Opening and Johnny Davis Celebration

The Wisconsin Badgers Men’s Basketball Team has been incredibly successful on the court over the past two decades, producing rarely high-profile NBA draft picks. He has selected just five players in the draft this season and currently has zero players on the NBA roster. For a fun outing in Memory Lane, here are those five players!

  • Frank Kaminski, 2015, first round, no. Pick 9, Charlotte Hornets
  • Sam Decker, 2015, first round, pick no. 18, Houston Rockets
  • John Lauer, 2011, second round, pick no. 40, Milwaukee Bucks
  • Alando Tucker, 2007, first round, no. 29, Pick the Phoenix Sons
  • Devin Harris, 2004, first round, no. Pick 5, Washington Wizards (Draft Rights Traded to Dallas Mavericks)

This year, however, the Badgers pick a player in the first half of the first round, and if you live under a cliff, that player is Johnny Davis. The La Crosse native took the Badgers to the Big Ten regular season title last year and won the Big Ten Player of the Year.

A consensus first-team All-America performer, Davis averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last year and was named the country’s best shooting guard. We’ll have more coverage of Davis later today and give you insights into his rookie season once we find out where he’ll play.
