“As a makeup artist, I’m lucky to be able to play and experiment with so many great beauty products,” said French. “Most are good. Some are great. But only a few stand out. Freck [Beauty] he is one of those who stood out and absolutely amazed me. Beyond their iconic freckle pen, a favorite, the entire line encourages you to take a product idea and make it unconventional, like the liquid liner that contains lash-enhancing peptides. That’s what I’m so excited about in this role, exploring the boundaries of what a beauty product can be, both on and off set. “

Launched by Remi Brixton in 2017, Freck Beauty has expanded to offer a range of cosmetics and skincare products. The brand is sold directly to the consumer and by Sephora in the “clean” category.

“I love what Remi often says, that he never wanted to launch a product that has been done before,” continued French. “I’m always up for a creative challenge, and that’s the one I can get behind.”

“At Freck Beauty, we like to say that it’s more than just a beauty brand, it’s an attitude and Alex couldn’t be better suited,” Sarah El-Annan, marketing manager at Freck Beauty, told WWD. “As a young queer woman, she grew up amidst adversity, while maintaining humility, working hard to land esteemed roles such as being part of the art team of an acclaimed show. ‘Euphoria. ‘ Alex inspires and empowers others in marginalized groups with her leading stature in the industry and constantly thanks her mentors, despite being a star herself. Everything from what she represents about her as a person, to her rich experience, and most importantly, her magical makeup prowess, make her perfect for Freck Beauty, where we celebrate the perfectly imperfect, the wildly bold and the rebellious. It is a gift to be able to collaborate with such a visionary artist to inspire future products and creative marketing campaigns. “
