It’s hard to believe Star Wars fans are removed one week from the epic Obi-Wan Kenobi series finale. The entire six-episode limited series was a thrilling roller coaster ride, but the finale featured the stunning thematic rematch of the century between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader that fans have been dreaming of for years. The best part is that that fight didn’t disappoint. Now the folks at Funko are releasing new pop art to commemorate the satisfyingly somber reunion of these two former Jedi.
Two of the new Pops are part of the Funko artist series. The first is of Obi-Wan with a burning lightsaber and the symbol of the Jedi Knight, seen several times throughout the series, all over his body. The brown and sand color scheme really makes this Funko stand out from the crowd which is probably not the best look for a hidden Jedi. It almost makes it look like his eyes are nicely made of wood or that Obi-Wan is covered in Tatooine sands. As we all know, Vader won’t like it because he’s not a fan of the irritating texture of sand. This brings us to Pop artist’s other series, which features a similar design with Vader performing a strangulation while the Sith symbol is stamped all over his armor. The red and black color scheme is very suitable for the Sith Lord and will make this version of Vader a very menacing presence on your shelf.
Funko’s latest new reveal is a two-pack Obi-Wan and Vader. They’re in the same pose as their regular Funko variations, but it’s a great option for fans who want to have the couple together in one package. Especially those who don’t want to buy the recently revealed pack of five which features Vader and Obi-Wan alongside Reva, Tala and Roken.
Obi-Wan Kenobi it was this gripping character-driven story about a former Jedi haunted by his dark past and quarrel with his closest friend. Throughout the series, we have seen Obi-Wan struggle to come to terms with the past between him and Vader. Their first rematch in episode three was one of the hardest lightsaber fights to watch because Obi-Wan looked significantly overwhelmed compared to his former apprentice. Seeing Vader drag Obi-Wan through those flames like a helpless rag doll probably scarred many fans, but once we got to the show’s final showdown, all bets were void. Obi-Wan fully unleashed the power of the Jedi, and it was an epically glorious sight to behold.
It wasn’t just one of the best lightsaber fights Star Wars story, but it also had so much emotional weight because of it Ewan McGregor And Hayden Christensencommitted performance. When Vader tells his former master that he killed Anakin and not Obi-Wan, that’s one of the most heartbreaking and heartbreaking moments in the entire franchise. It tied into themes of letting go of the past and embracing the future so well, while putting a jaw-dropping exclamation mark on Obi-Wan and Vader’s tragic relationship. Hopefully we can get some great Funko of that scene soon, but these new Obi-Wan and Vader Pops may hold you back until then.
