Microsoft Outlook makes it easy to draw a line through your email text. In Outlook’s desktop application, you can use a simple strikethrough and a double strikethrough. In the web version, you only have the simple strikethrough option.
NOTE: As of May 2022, Outlook’s mobile app does not offer a strikethrough option. You need to use Outlook’s desktop or web application to apply this formatting style to your text.

Strikethrough text in Outlook’s desktop app
In Outlook’s desktop app, you can add single and double lines of text in your emails. The process is different for each strikethrough style, but we’ve outlined both procedures for you.
Apply Single Strikethrough in Outlook
To add a single line of crossing text to your email, first launch the Outlook app on your computer.
In Outlook, create a new email or open a reply to the email. Then type the text you want to hit.
Highlight the text you want to strikethrough.
When highlighting your text, in the Outlook ribbon at the top, select the “Format Text” tab.
On the “Format Text” tab, from the “Font” section, select the “Strikethrough” option (the line that crosses “ab”).
And the strikethrough effect has been successfully applied to your selected text.
Suggestion: To remove the strikethrough effect, select your text and click on the same “strikethrough” option.
And that’s it.
Use Double Strikethrough in Outlook
To add two lines of text in your email, you use Outlook’s “Font” settings menu.
First, start Outlook and create a new email or log in to your email reply. Then type the text that you want to double strike through.
Right-click your text and in the menu that opens, select “Font”.
You will see the “Font” window. Here, in the “Effects” section, enable the “Double Strikethrough” option. Then, at the bottom, select “OK”.
Back in the mail window, you’ll see that your text has now been applied to Double StrikeThrough.
Suggestion: To remove the double strikethrough, quickly press Ctrl + Z (Windows) or Command + Z (Mac).
And how do you fully recognize your text in your emails!
Strikethrough text in Outlook’s web application
The Web version of Outlook only offers a single strikethrough option.
To use it, first, open a web browser on your computer and open Outlook. Then log into the email you want to use the strikethrough effect.
Type a new text and highlight it or highlight the current text you want to hit.
When your text is highlighted, at the bottom of the email box, click the three dots.
From the menu that opens, select “Strikethrough” (the “ABC” crossing line icon).
In the Email box, you will see that your text has now been applied to Strikethrough.
Suggestion: To undo the strikethrough effect, select your text and select the same “strikethrough” option.
You are now ready to send your customized email to your intended recipient!
