HARRISBURG – A Lock Haven native is making his dreams come true.

Tommy “Arden” Burnell recently had the opportunity to perform with a charted musician at the Skies the Limit Festival, in Harrisburg.

The event was hosted by 300Reem and featured American rapper, singer and songwriter – and Pennsylvania resident – Lil Skies.

Arden is a new age musical artist from Lock Haven. He began dabbling in music in 2016 before diving deeper into the industry by 2019.

Arden describes his music as a “distinct sound with modern R&B, Hip Hop and Rap records.” He takes a universal approach to his music: whether it’s slower R&B BPM, uplifting hip hop, or a club-mad sounding type, he tries to offer an experience for each of his fans in various ways.

The up-and-coming artist, now settling in to Philadelphia, first met Lil Skies through another adventure of his.

In 2019 Arden created Mod570, a space to elevate artists and creators. The company includes a blog, with spotlight on various artists across Pennsylvania, many from Lock Haven itself, along with a clothing brand and other media ventures.

“Skies and I hooked up in early 2021. We were filming Rello’s mod interview for when ConnectedSound Studio first opened,” Arden said. “I got to talk to him in the studio and show him some of my projects for Mod570.”

Lil Skies, originally from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, has a deal with All We Got Entertainment through Atlantic Records. Three of her songs made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 – “I” (number 39), “Nowadays” (number 55) e “Red roses” (number 69). His debut mixtape with a major, “Life of a dark rose” was released in 2018 and peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. The mixtape was also certified platinum by the RIAA in 2020.

Arden said he feels lucky to have the opportunity to meet Lil Skies and be present at the Skies the Limit Festival.

“I feel lucky for the opportunity and can’t wait to see what happens for the music and the community”, He said. “Maybe a collaboration in some for with Skies after the Festival.”

However, what excited Arden most is how this opportunity can serve as an inspiration for others.

“Overall, I’m happy to be able to do it and hope it inspires others to pursue their dreams”, He said. “It all starts with an idea and then execution on your part.”
