Fans of horror manga already know this Junji Ito is the king of the genre, but if his art style featured the likes of king of the HillHank Hill, the king of all propane and propane accessories? Well, first of all, weird question, but if you happen to be a fan of these two disparate media, this illustrator has put this question to bed with a slew of horrifically hilarious works of art on Twitter.

First reported by The outburst on the screenWoodrow White, a visual development artist for the upcoming 2023 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, has released a handful of stylized Photoshop edits of king of the Hill characters within the world of Junji Ito’s works. And, folks, they are spectacular.

White said he was inspired during the retelling king of the Hill and re-reading Junji Ito’s manga around the same time. How you do it.

“One day I started acting out scenes by myself with the voices of the KotH characters while working from home. I’m just getting nervous, “White said, elaborate his creative process from his tweet pinned. “I started using filters on the frames of the show, adding shading and speech bubbles, and it was all perfect. So, from there I expanded “.

While seeing Mike Judge’s American animated sitcom set in the world of Ito should be jarring for their diametrically opposed art styles, somehow the shocked reactions of Texans to the monstrosity in White’s panels emanate the same nervous facial expressions as Ito’s characters. You have Bill Dauterive And Dale Gribble becoming one with the spiral from Uzumaki, Luanne’s plate‘s likeness drawn by her loving husband, Elroy, a la Tomè, and Hank’s boss, Buck Strickland, dreaming of the long deadly dream of propane. White said Kotaku it takes him about an hour and a half to invent his own KotH Ito merges before posting them on Twitter.

Back in AprilWhite posted a tweet falsifying Junji Ito’s Gio short story, The enigma of the amigara fault. In the tweet, cleverly titled “The Enigma of Arlen Fault”, Hank Hill tells his wife Peggy that “this hole was meant for me”, referring to the current memed to death manga panel. White would then retweet the mailsaying it was the beginning of his insertion of the characters from the animated sitcom into the world of Ito.

White also said Kotaku that his favorite modification so far is that of Boomhauer entering his lair, adding that writing the motormouth dialogue was “a lot of fun”.

Had he been given the chance to speak to Ito, White said he would thank him for all the fears and inspiration he has provided, especially in his favorite job, Splatter film. To the curious KotH fans who no doubt feel left out at this point in the article, White’s favorite episode is High anxiety.

“I hope you find it as funny as I do,” White said.

For those hoping that White has made plans to create his own king of the Hill x Junji Ito manga series, don’t hold your breath as the artist responded to followers saying he has no bigger projects planned.

I, for example, am slightly upset because I accidentally typed King of the killing several times during the writing of this article. It’s free in case you change your mind, White.
